Carla Labat began CamilleK in Los Gatos, California in 1995, as a company specializing in Jewelry and clothing accessories.
Today, her jewelry pieces begin as vintage fabrics, trims, buckles, and appliqués and become one-of-a-kind treasures. She hunts Paris flea markets for adornments and has sources that save "Carla Boxes" full of vintage finds for her quarterly visits. Her jewelry is reminiscent of 18th century theater costuming with a modern twist.
Carla, a California native, has a B.A. in English literature from Santa Clara University. She has traveled extensively living in both Spain and France. She considers her early career in theater and dance as well as her European travels as great influences in her "Custom" Jewelry designs. She loves discovering vintage French treasures and giving them new lives. Her Accessories are pieces one might not need but simply must have! She is passionate about her work.
She designs from her Atelier in Palo Alto, California. Her daughter, Camille, continues to be the inspiration behind the company name as well as her design work.
